Nnamdi Destiny, the 35-year-old father who was accused of sexually defiling his two-month-old daughter has been granted bail by a magistrate court sitting in Abia.
The accused was said to have confessed and pleaded guilty to the crime after his wife saw bruises in their daughter’s private part and took her to the hospital where a doctor examined and confirmed the little girl was sexually assaulted.

The case was made public by Gwamnishu Harrison Emefiena, an activist, who sought justice for the mother of the child.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the accused was granted bail, Gwamnishu said:
”The Police prosecutor did his best to counter the bail with strong reasons. The wife told us she’s no longer ready to continue with the trial. She wants to withdraw the charges against her husband. We understand her feelings but we can’t help her situation’.’
