Fraud: Head Of Service, Oyo-Ita to Proceed On Retirement, Presidency Feigns Ignorance

Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, has sent a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, signifying her intention to proceed on immediate retirement.

This is coming in the heat of allegations of N3bn fraud against her.

The HoS is being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for bribery, duty tour allowance falsification and fraud case.

While answering questions from the EFFC last week, Oyo-Ita denied the allegations of fraud against her.

According to a report by PUNCHon Monday, the woman was advised to retire from service by relatives as a result of her poor health.

“She has decided to quit her position at the HCSF because of the controversy surrounding the allegations against her, her state of health and advice from family members.

“She is however still determined to meet with President Buhari to prove her innocence,” a source said.

But reacting to the news, the Presidency, through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, denied receiving any letter from Oyo-Ita.

Shehu said, “We have no such letter here, in the event that such a letter exists. This is our position.”
