Four members of two rival cult groups have reportedly lost their lives in a bloody clash by the groups.

This happened, as the police have also apprehended two suspects in.connection with the clash.

Our correspondent gathered that the deceased were members of the notorious  Aiye and Elye cult groups.

It was reliably gathered that the incident occurred at the early hours of Sunday in Ajah area of the state.

According to a reliable police source, the hoodlums had engaged themselves in the bloody clash over supremacy in Sangotedo area of Ajah.

Our correspondent further learnt that cutlasses were freely used by  the suspected cultists leading to four members among them.

Further, it was learnt that policemen from the Ajah Division were immediately deployed to the scene to restore normalcy.

The police source, who spoke craved not to be named said two suspects were arrested at the scene with three cutlasses recovered from them.

The source added that the corpses have been deposited at a public morgue, while efforts are on by the police to arrest fleeing members of the groups.

“The police recovered the four dead bodies and deposited them at the public mortuary. Three Cutlesses were recovered from the suspects.

“Security had been beefed-up in the area with more patrol police men deployed. The area is calm now,” the source said.

Our correspondent further learnt that policemen were currently combing the bushes on the road between Ogonbo community and Abraham Adesanya Estate for more victims.

The spokesman for the police in Lagos, DSP Bala Elkana was yet to respond to message sent to him for comment as at time of filing the report.
