Man City Return to Top of Premier League After Win Over Everton

Manchester City successfully get themselves back into the top of English Premier League table as they defeated Everton in midweek.

Playing away from home, Pep Guardiola’s men kept on playing their possession based attacking football straight from kick off.

The visitor’s positive approach eventually earn its reward despite taking a bit more time as they broke the deadlock just before half time break through Aymeric Laporte’s effort.

Both teams continue to push forward in search for goals after the break triggering an exciting battle.

In the end it was City that secured all three points with another late goal, this time scored by Gabriel Jesus.

That 2-0 victory was more than enough to secure the top seat for City as they now level on points with Liverpool but Guardiola’s side are ahead in goal difference.

However, the defending champion are also ahead in terms of game played, so their lead could still be a temporary situation.

This upcoming weekend could be a decisive result though for Man City as they set to face Chelsea at Etihad Stadium.

The title race this season look to be really tight and slightly tougher for City themselves as they already suffered four defeats up till now.
