The convoy of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress In Taraba State, Sani Danladi, has been attacked by suspected hoodlums.
Commissioner of Police in the state, David Akinremi, told journalists in Jalingo, the state capital, that Danladi was heading to Ibi local government area when he was attacked in Wukari local government area, the only route to the area.
Wukari local government area is over 270 kilometres away from Jalingo the state capital.
The hoodlums who were allegedly armed with dangerous weapons, opened fire on the convoy injuring several persons and subsequently burnt down about ten vehicles and looted personal belongings of the occupants who fled the scene.
The spokesperson of the APC in the state, Mr Aaron Artimas, who was at the scene of the incident, said that it was a well-organised attack.
He further confirmed that about ten vehicles in the convoy were looted and burnt down while several others were vandalised and looted.
