Pa Philip Akintoye Development Foundation (PAPADEF) has donated boreholes to two public primary schools-Ansar-Ud-Deen (AUD) and United Africa Methodist Church Primary Schools in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The gesture was part of activities marking the 14th commemorative anniversary of Late Pa Philip Olufunmilayo Akintoye.

At the commissioning of the borehole provided for AUD Primary School, founder of the foundation, Comrade Festus Kehinde Akintoye said PAPADEF seeks to consolidate a legacy of selflessness and philanthropy that his father taught them when he was alive.

“He spent his active career life as a civil servant, ensuring that in his little way, he attends to the plights of the needy in Ado-Odo and its environs. It is, therefore, to the credit of his memory that many people, otherwise indigent students in those years, have today become highly accomplished professionals in various sectors home and abroad.

“PAPADEF was established to consolidate the memory through activities oriented toward uplifting the underprivileged and the dispossessed. It explains why our core mandate is providing succour to the less privileged. More specifically, we are committed to alleviating the plights of widows facing persecution and economic challenges in the community. We are equally interested in the sponsorship of the education of their children as well as other children in the community who experience difficulties in meeting the demands of school fees at the elementary and secondary levels of education. The all-inclusive disposition of PAPADEF is underscored by our commitment to the empowerment of artisans, as well in the community.

“In the coming weeks, as we approach September, we hope to sink two to three more boreholes in CMS Primary School, Ado-Odo and in Alapoti and Obakobe communities. The promise is an expression of our persuasion about the necessity of mediating development without bias to ethnicity, religion or location in the community. “
