The 2018/19 season of EPL saw a total of 1071 goals scored, out of which there were plenty of goals that left the spectators speechless. Those goals did not only find their place in our memory but also found their place among the best goals of 2018/19 EPL season. Without any further ado, let’s jump into our list of top 5 goals in 2018/19 season of Premier League

5. Gylfi Sigurðsson (Leicester vs Everton)

Our number 5 pick comes from a goal scored by Gylfi Sigurðsson in the 8th round of Premier League when Leicester and Everton met at King Power Stadium in Leicester. A goal scored in the 77th minute from an impressive range got Everton a lead and ultimately won them the match.

4. Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea v Liverpool)

An absolute thriller that took place at Stamford Bridge featured two of the best English teams going head-to-head in the 7th round of the EPL. The 1st encounter of the two sides of the season ended in a draw (1:1), however it did not let any football fan down, as it was filled with incredible chances, top tier football, 23 goal attempts, and to top it all off a magnificent last-minute goal from Daniel Sturridge, who put away a screamer, which stunned the Bridge. He shot the ball from just outside the penalty box, and with incredible accuracy which sent the ball to the upper right corner left Arrizabalaga helpless as he was unable to reach the ball.

3. Son Heung-min (Tottenham vs Chelsea)

From incredible long-range goals, we move to a solo goal from Son Heung-min, who singlehandedly defeated Chelsea’s defence and got his team in a 3:0 lead on November 24th, when Spurs and Chelsea met in the 13th round of EPL. From the perspective of most football fans, the mentioned goal was nothing special. It was not scored from an incredibly long range, neither did Son Heung-min use any fancy kick to score it. Nonetheless, the way he did it was just phenomenal and good enough for us to put it on our no.3 spot. Son Heung-min outran Chelsea defence and had to defeat 5 Chelsea defenders to score a goal, and he did. With exceptional footwork, he managed to get in front of Chelsea goal and scored without making a single mistake.

2. Eden Hazard (Chelsea vs West Ham United)

As we get closer to our no.1 pick, we have another match featuring Chelsea, however, this time not on the receiving end. As our no.3 pick, the goal Eden Hazard scored against West Ham is not the usual screamer, but simply a perfect display of his incredible quality as a player. Looking at the video, I still don’t understand how Eden Hazard managed to get through West Ham’s defence with the ball still at his feet. The finish itself was not as spectacular, however, the way Hazard got to the goal is a good enough reason to put it on our no.2 spot.

1. Andros Townsend (Manchester City v Crystal Palace)

The Manchester City vs Crystal Palace match that took place at Etihad Stadium in the 18th round. The fixture did not only serve us with a shocking result of 2:3, but also the best goal of the 2018/19 Premier League season. I am not exactly sure what had to come together for this goal to happen. Maybe it was the mistakes from City’s defence, the motivation of Crystal Palace players to push for a goal, weather, or maybe even the right wind. Whichever factor or combination of the contributed to Townsend’s wondergoal does not matter, however, what does matter is that we have got a video to prove it did and to watch it over and over again.

From long-range goals, displays of individual skills and once in a lifetime wonder goals, we conclude our list of top goals in the 2018/19 season of Premier League, which we will rewatch and replay in our heads as we wait for the 2019/20 season to begin.
