The inability of a middle aged man to provide money for the hosting of his daughter’s birthday party has led to his death, as he was reportedly stabbed by the mother of the girl.
The deceased, identified as Bala Haruna, 25, was said to have been stabbed with a kitchen knife by the wife named Stella Peter, aged 23 years.
Our correspondent gathered that an argument has ensured between the couple over the failure of the deceased to provide money for the birthday party as demanded by the killer wife.
It was reliably learnt that the incident occurred on 17th September, 2019 at No 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere, where they co- habit.
Though not married, the couple was said to have lived together for three years, resulting in the birth of the baby that cause the controversy, who just turned one year.
The police public relations officer DSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the report said the suspect was arrested by Homicide detectives attached to Surulere Division..
He stated that the suspect confessed to e crime adding that she will be arraigned un court for murder.
His words, “On 17/09/2019 at about 0600hours, Homicide detectives from Surulere Division arrested one Stella Peter ‘f’ 23 years old for stabbing her hubby, Bala Haruna ‘m’ 25 year old to death.

 The couple who were not actually married, lived together at No 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere lagos, for three years and have a Baby who just turned one. 
An argument ensued between them which turned violent and the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man in the back which led to his death. 
The woman accused the man of refusing to release money for their daughter’s birthday party.
 Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba have taken over the investigation.
 The suspect confessed to the commission of the Crime. She will be charged to Court for murder”.
